4-8-19(NCAAB) Virginia Cavaliers Vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders
For this matchup we are featuring the men’s NCAA March Madness Tournament Championship game. Whoever wins this game is crowned the winner of the NCAA bracket. The Cavaliers enter this game as a 34 win team but unfortunately fell short in their conference championship to Florida State, by a 10 point margin. The Cavs are led by Kyle Guy(15.2pts per game) and De’Andre Hunter(14.9pts per game) who lead their team in scoring. Questions involving a turnover during certain marks of the game should also be taken into consideration. Virginia finished 235th in the nation in forcing turnovers while Texas Tech finished 11th. Texas Tech is led by the fan favorite, Jarrett Culver. The second year player is averaging 18.6 a game for the Red Raiders as their leading scorer. As a team they finished with a 31-6 record but was bounced out of their conference championship by West Virginia in a 5 point loss.
4-9-19(MLB) Houston Astros Vs New York Yankees
The Astros will be at home for this series against the Yankees. Pitching in this matchup will be Jonathan Loaisiga(NYY) against Gerrit Cole(HOU). Look for Cole to bounce back from previous slumping starts. With the Yankees being injured, Houston could take advantage of a weaker lineup than previously expected. The Yankees are a mere 5-4 this season with a surprising 3 wins on the road. Houston has a record of 5-5 but only 3 of them coming at home. This will be a closer battle than most people think so consider that when picking your possible tiebreaker score. The Astros have only 12 home runs in 10 games this season and the Yankees have 20 home runs in 9 games. That equals about 0.13 average home runs an inning for the Astros and 0.22 average home runs an inning for the Yankees. Remember this for questions pertaining home runs and doubles in certain innings.
4-10-19(MLB) Kansas City Royals Vs. Seattle Mariners
At home in this matchup will be the Royals facing off against Seattle. Pitching for these two squads will be Yusei Kikuchi(SEA) Vs. TBD(KC). Yusei doesn’t have any starts in the major leagues so whoever is announced by Kansas City for the mound, should make for a close battle. The Royals are 2-6 on the season with their only 2 wins coming at home. The Mariners are leading the AL West with a 9-2 record and 5-1 at home. They also have 85 runs off of 108 hits which ranks 1st in the AL. The Royals have allowed 42 runs off of 69 hits which puts them square in the middle of AL rankings. Seattle could dominate this series and this specific game.
4-11-19(MLB) Chicago Cubs Vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The home team will be the Chicago Cubs versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. A pitching matchup of well known names will be featured this day between Jose Quintana(CHC) and Joe Musgrove(PIT). Musgrove has an ERA of 0.00 while Jose has an ERA of 10.29. Jose only has 11 strikeouts in both loses this year. This should be a very lopsided pitching battle unless Quintana can get back to his once great form. The Pirates have a record of 5-3 and only getting 1 of those wins on the road. The Cubs are sitting at 2-7 in the same division, with this series being their home opener. The Pirates enter this matchup with 7 stolen bases and the Cubs have 5. That puts the Pirates at 2nd in the NL and the Cubs at 5th in the NL rankings for stolen bases. Expect there to be a high possibility of a steal in this game.
4-12-19(MLB) Minnesota Twins Vs. Detroit Tigers
The Twins will be at home facing the Detroit tigers in this matchup. The pitchers for this matchup have not been announced. With Matt Moore on the 10 day disabled list, the Tigers could start their ace, Jordan Zimmermann with an ERA of 0.66 and two starts. The Twins will likely start Michael Pineda who has an ERA of 2.0 with two starts. Both starters have 10 strikeouts in through 2 games. Detroit has a surprising record of 7-3 with a 4-3 record on the road. The Twins have a record of 5-3 with only 2 of those coming at home. Tigers have allowed just 26 runs(2nd in the NL) on the season verse the Twins 29(3rd in the NL). This could be a great pitching duel with very few runs.
